Tom Chaplin & Enderby Youth Band – Quicksand The fire started among stacks of plastic outside one of Euro-Key’s three buildings but soon spread to the nearest one – a 15,000sq ft warehouse. The blaze, which was first reported shortly after 1.30pm 2nd May 2010, broke out on the east side of a compound belonging to Euro-Key Recycling in Warren Park Way. People in the village were urged to stay indoors and keep doors and windows shut because of the toxic fumes. Surveyors examined the damage later on Saturday 18th May. Specialist equipment, including a water carrier and aerial platforms were used to fight the fire which is thought to have involved a conveyor into the building. The cause is being investigated and nobody is reported injured. Enderby Youth Band with Tom Chaplin 2017įirefighters were called from across Leicestershire to tackle a blaze at a quarry which burnt through the night.įlames and smoke could be seen for miles around Croft Quarry, between Enderby and Cosby, after the fire took hold at about 19:00 BST on Friday.Īt its peak, 50 firefighters battled the burning building bringing it under control by 23:00 and eventually putting it out in the early hours of Saturday.
